Ran into a guy at Tim Hortons on Whyte who changed how I see city buses

I was grabbing coffee near the University station and this older fella named Dave started chatting about the LRT delays. He told me he's been riding Edmonton Transit for 30 years and actually keeps a log of all the late buses. He showed me his notebook with dates and times, like 47 delays just in January. Has anyone else met a random stranger who totally shifted their view on something as everyday as the bus?

Holy crap, 47 delays in one month? That guy Dave must have the patience of a saint. I barely make it through a week on the 4 without wanting to scream into my coffee. I can't believe he actually wrote them all down in a notebook like that, that's dedication.

Dude, right?! @quinn_fox you totally nailed it. That notebook thing is next level. I feel like most people would just tweet about it or complain to a friend, but actually writing down every single delay and the reasons? That's like detective work. Maybe he's building a case against the MTA or something, I wouldn't blame him. Honestly, after 47 delays I'd probably just move closer to work or start walking everywhere, my sanity couldn't take it. Props to Dave for keeping receipts though, that's legendary.
