That's a pretty weak move, relying on some chat group to figure out parking. Real planning means looking at the city website or the event page yourself, not trusting random comments. Those community chats are full of outdated info and people just guessing. You probably just got lucky last Friday, most of the time that advice would steer you wrong. Learning to check official sources is a basic skill.

Yeah but honestly, that's how most stuff gets done now. People ask in the neighborhood group for a plumber instead of the yellow pages, or check a subreddit for travel tips over a guidebook. The official source might be technically right, but the lived experience from ten people who were just there yesterday usually has the real details, like which meter is always broken or what time the lot actually fills up.

Wait, you're saying people actually check the city website for something like parking? I'm with @thea_knight on this one. Last time I tried to use the official airport parking page, it said there were 300 spots open but the lot was full when I got there. The local Facebook group had someone posting updates every 15 minutes, and that's how I knew to go to the overflow lot by the old Kmart.
