Just watched a customer's poodle slide off the table mid-groom
Was working a 9am slot at my shop in Edmonton when this 80lb standard poodle got spooked by a car backfiring, launched off the grooming table, and hit the floor so hard the owner just stared at me like I'd dropped it on purpose, has anyone else had a dog panic and bail mid-session?

I read somewhere that grooming loops are basically a must for big spooky dogs.

My old rottweiler Duke was around 130 pounds and a total goofball but he'd spook at random stuff like a trash can falling over. I never used a grooming loop on him at first and he almost pulled me off the vet's table when a door slammed. After that I got a simple nylon loop with a little padding and it made a huge difference for keeping him still and safe. @jordan464 you're right that it's basically a must for the big spooky ones because they can move so fast and you don't want them slipping a collar. I'd say go for one with a quick release buckle just in case they panic and you need to get it off fast.
