DAE try the new chat app that launched at the Edmonton Expo last month?
I was using the old city forum for years, but the new one loads way faster on my phone. Anyone else switch and notice a big difference?

The Edmonton Expo was just last month, and they already have a whole new forum app out? That rollout speed is crazy. It does feel like apps get heavy on purpose after a while, like they're adding invisible weight. My old phone started chugging on apps that used to be fine, and a new phone fixed it, so maybe it's both things happening at once. They definitely don't spend time making the old version run smooth anymore.

Yeah, it's wild how much better the new stuff runs. I've seen this happen with a bunch of apps lately, where the old version just gets slow and clunky on purpose. It's like they stop trying to make it work well, so you're forced to move to the new thing. Makes me wonder if my phone is really getting slower or if the apps are just getting worse on the old versions.

Nah, I gotta disagree with you @the_abby. Phones actually do get slower over time as software updates demand more power and the hardware wears down. App developers aren't sitting around plotting to ruin old versions, they just focus resources on the new stuff because that's where the users are.
