Am I the only one who figured out how to get actual local info from the Edmonton chat groups?

For months, I was just scrolling through the same old posts about the weather or Oilers games. Felt pointless. Then last Tuesday, I got specific. Posted asking for a plumber who actually showed up on time in the Mill Woods area. Gave my budget, said under $200 for the initial call. Got three real replies with names and numbers in an hour. One guy, Mike, came the next morning and fixed my sink for $180 flat. Turns out the trick is to ask a tight, money-on-the-table question. No 'any recommendations?' vague stuff. You gotta state the neighborhood, the cash, and the exact job. Has anyone else cracked the code on getting these chats to actually work for finding local services?

Wait, you got a plumber to show up on time? That's the real miracle here.

Didn't a local paper run an article on this exact trick?

Wasn't there a piece in the Metro about asking with clear details like that? You're right, being vague gets you nowhere.
