The dining chair that fought back on a rainy Tuesday
Last Tuesday I tried to recover a thrift store dining chair with an old bedsheet, thinking it would be a quick afternoon job. The fabric kept slipping on the seat cushion and the staple gun jammed about 6 times, so I got frustrated and left it half done. I came back the next morning, flipped the chair upside down, and realized the foam was shot, so I layered two old towels under the sheet to give it some shape. It ended up looking weirdly good, kinda lumpy but sturdy, and my wife said it looks like a "really comfy potato." Has anyone else salvaged a wobbly chair with random household padding instead of buying new foam? That would've cost me like $15 and I'm curious if it holds up.

Did you try flipping the staples sideways so they grab the wood at a better angle?
