Realized my old jeans could become 4 stash baskets in 20 minutes
I was about to toss a pair of ripped Levi's from 2019 when I saw a TikTok where a girl cut the legs off and stitched the bottom into a basket shape for holding remotes. It hit me that I had 3 more pairs in the donate pile that could do the same thing, saving me $12 on fabric bins from Target. Anyone else find a random video that totally changed how you see your old clothes?

omg that tiktok sounds genius. i did something similar after seeing a video where a girl turned old t-shirts into reusable produce bags. i had a ton of graphic tees i was never gonna wear again so i just cut the sleeves off and sewed the bottom shut. now i use them for carrying apples and oranges at the store and they actually hold up better than those mesh ones. the jeans thing is next level though, i need to try that with my ripped pair.

I have to be honest, I used to think the whole "repurpose old clothes" thing was just a fad that wouldn't last. But your comment about those t-shirts turning into better produce bags than the mesh ones really got me thinking. I had a closet full of band tees from high school that I was holding onto for no good reason, just taking up space. So I tried your method last weekend on a few of them, and I have to say it worked way better than I expected. The thick cotton holds up nice when I load it up with potatoes and onions, and the graphic design actually makes it fun to spot my bag in the cart. You really changed my mind on this whole upcycling thing, it's actually practical stuff.
