Nearly ruined a whole batch of chili with a cheap liner
I spent $3 on those budget slow cooker liners from the dollar store last week and they melted right into my chili, coating everything in a plastic mess. Had to throw out $20 worth of beef and veggies because I didn't want us eating melted chemicals. Anyone else had this happen with bargain liners or is it just me?

Honestly this fits into a bigger pattern I've noticed where people try to save a couple bucks on the little things but end up wasting way more in the long run. It's like buying the cheapest trash bags that rip open and spill garbage everywhere, or the super cheap toilet paper that leaves you using twice as much. Everyone focuses on the upfront cost but never thinks about what happens when the product fails or just doesn't do its job. You probably could have bought a pack of name brand liners for a few dollars more and had them work perfectly for months and saved that chili and all that money. Ngl it's the same kind of thinking that gets people buying cheap shoes that fall apart in a month instead of spending a little more on something that lasts. Hope you didn't let it ruin your whole week though, cooking accidents happen to everyone.

Man it's the same with people buying those cheap phone chargers that fry their battery in a few months meanwhile a decent one would have lasted years. Short term savings always seem to sneak up and bite you later, right?
