My sister-in-law in Denver mentioned she only uses her slow cooker for soups and stews, which got me thinking about all the other stuff you can make in it.
What's the most surprising non-soup thing you've successfully cooked in yours, like maybe a dessert or a breakfast casserole?

Wait, only soups and stews... my neighbor makes a whole cheesecake in hers.

Oh, the cheesecake thing... that's actually a different kind of pot, a springform pan inside a bigger pot with water. A regular slow cooker would just make a soggy mess.

About that cheesecake thing... @ray648 is right that a water bath method is tricky, but you can actually make a decent one right in the slow cooker liner if you use a smaller pan that fits. I've done a breakfast strata with eggs, bread, and cheese that came out surprisingly good, just had to check it early so the eggs didn't overcook. It definitely takes some trial and error to figure out what works without turning everything to mush.
