Hit 100 pounds of pulled pork from one slow cooker this weekend
I loaded a 10 quart slow cooker with a 12 pound shoulder and some bone-in cuts for a party and somehow ended up with exactly 100 servings worth of meat after shredding, has anyone else tried maxing out their cooker like this?

Wait, you fit 12 pounds in a 10 quart slow cooker? I used to think bigger cuts like that would never cook right in a standard size, but this kinda proves me wrong. I always figured you'd end up with burnt edges or raw middle, especially with bone-in. Did you have to cut the shoulder down or just jam it in there? I've been scared to go past 8 pounds in my 8 quart, but now I'm thinking I should just go for it next time. Honestly, your result sounds like it worked way better than I'd expect, so maybe I was overthinking it.

I read somewhere that bone-in cuts actually help with even heat distribution in a crowded cooker... sounds like that worked out way better than shoving a boneless hunk in there.
