Frozen chicken thighs straight into the pot saved my Tuesday night dinner last week

I put four frozen thighs from Aldi in my Crock-Pot with a can of cream of mushroom soup and some garlic powder on low for 8 hours and it came out tender enough to shred, has anyone else done frozen meat without thawing first and had it work fine?

Frozen chicken straight in the pot is the only way I do it anymore. I toss a whole bag of frozen breasts in with some broth and a packet of taco seasoning, low for 6 hours, and it comes out perfect every single time. People freak out about food safety but as long as it gets up to temp and sits there for hours you're fine. Aldi frozen chicken holds up better than the name brand stuff in my experience too.

Read somewhere that Aldi uses the same suppliers as the big name stores for their frozen chicken. Just rebrands it. Been using their bags for years now and never had a bad batch. @haydenburns you're right about the slow cooker method too. I do mine with salsa verde instead of taco seasoning.
