The ugliest book cover I ever bought turned out to be a first edition gem
I grabbed a beat-up paperback with a hideous 70s cover at a garage sale in Tucson for just 50 cents last Saturday. Turns out it was a first edition of a sci-fi novel from 1975 that goes for like $40 online. Has anyone else scored big on a book that looked terrible on the outside?

Grabbed a sci-fi novel with a tacky spaceship cover for a dollar at a thrift store. Found out it was a signed first edition worth a couple hundred bucks. Still makes me smile every time I see that ugly cover on my shelf.
