Rant: Overheard a guy at Goodwill say old recipe books are useless and I wanted to fight him

I was flipping through a 1974 Betty Crocker at the bins last Saturday and this dude next to me goes "why would anyone want that, the food's gotta be terrible." Like yeah, the jello-mold recipes are wild, but there's legit baking tips in there you don't see anymore. I found a sour cream coffee cake from a 60s church cookbook that beats anything on Pinterest. Anyone else find hidden gems in those old cookbooks?

Oh man, I feel you so hard on this. Those old church cookbooks are gold mines for stuff you just can't find online anymore. That guy was missing out on a whole world of real cooking knowledge.
