ngl that book is a total vibe. but the real flex here is that you found it in Ohio specifically. i feel like midwest library sales are where all the weird, hyper-specific manuals go to live their second life. like you won't find a "How to Keep Your Volkswagen Alive" in a coastal city sale, it'd be buried under a pile of Marie Kondo stuff. that book's probably been passed around by three different gearheads who all thought they'd fix up a beetle and then gave up. it's got that energy of "i learned the hard way so you don't have to" written all over it.

Hold up, I gotta push back on this. That book is a pain to work with, not a vibe. It's outdated and misses a ton of modern stuff. If you actually tried to use it on a newer VW you'd be lost. Plus, finding it in Ohio means it probably sat in a damp garage for years, not some magical second life. And gearheads giving up? That's just people realizing the beetle is a money pit, not a passing of wisdom. Honestly, you're better off with a YouTube video from a modern mechanic.
