TIL that checking the publication date before buying a used book can save you from outdated science

Was at a library sale in Akron last weekend and grabbed a 1970s astronomy book for 50 cents. Got home and it said Pluto was still a planet AND that the moon landing might be faked. Now I always flip to the copyright page first. Anyone else get burned by an old textbook that aged like milk?

Pluto was still a planet" got me too lol. I always thought older books were just as good but nah, science moves fast and I learned my lesson the hard way with a biology textbook from 1995.

Stick to books printed after 2000 for anything science related.

Yeah @mark_nguyen95 that 1995 biology book must have been ROUGH on genetics alone.
