Just realized I've bought over 200 books from library sales this year
I was cleaning out my spare room over the weekend and decided to actually count the stacks I've piled up. Turns out I've gotten 217 books from library sales since January. That's not counting the ones I got at thrift stores or garage sales, just the library ones. It honestly shocked me because I only go maybe twice a month. The library near my house in Portland has a sale every first Saturday and books are usually 50 cents to a dollar. I think I have a problem but also I've found some AMAZING reads this way. Like a 1980s travel guide to Italy that had handwritten notes in the margins from someone's actual trip. Has anyone else ever counted up their haul and gotten surprised by the number?

Found a signed first edition of a cookbook in one of those dollar bins last June and nearly dropped it.

You gotta get a system before it takes over your whole house. I started rotating shelves so the oldest stack gets read before I even let myself buy more. A signed cookbook find pays for the habit though, that's a good sign.
