Found out my favorite thrift store novel was once banned in 3 countries

I picked up this old paperback called "The Lonely War" at a Goodwill in Austin for like 50 cents. Turns out it got banned in South Africa, Ireland, and Spain back in the 1950s for its take on military politics. The inside cover had a stamp from a library in Dublin that said "Withdrawn" which I thought was just normal until I looked it up. I spent a whole afternoon reading articles about why each country pulled it from shelves. Has anyone else stumbled on a book that had a wild censorship history?

I spent 3 hours researching that book before realizing I still haven't finished my laundry.

Tried setting a timer for laundry so I couldn't ignore it anymore. Told myself I'd do 20 minutes of book stuff after I got the clothes in the machine. Finished both without feeling like I wasted the whole afternoon.
