That week in July where every single job site was over 90 degrees and the mud was setting up in the pan in under 10 minutes.

We had to mix in half a gallon of extra water per bag just to keep it workable, and even then the finish on the ceiling of the Smithfield addition looked like orange peel because it dried so fast. Anyone else have a go-to trick for hot weather taping besides just working at night?

My buddy swears by that 90 minute mud, but he still ended up spraying the walls with a garden mister between coats last summer.

That orange peel finish is the worst. Did you try using a slower setting compound for that ceiling, like the 90-minute stuff? It costs more but buys you crucial time in that heat.
