Saw a crew taping with the wrong mud today in Phoenix

Watched a crew out in Phoenix put premixed all-purpose on their taper's box for a level 4 finish. That stuff shrinks like crazy and you'll be back filling nail pops in 3 months. I learned this the hard way back in 2017 when a whole living room ceiling needed re-tapping. Has anyone else seen crews using the wrong compound for the job?

Back filling nail pops in 3 months" - I mean, yeah all-purpose shrinks some, but I've used it on plenty of level 4 jobs and didn't see any issues. You sure it was the mud and not something else, like bad bead or the framing moving? Phoenix is dry as hell, that place sucks the moisture out of everything fast. I feel like people blame the mud too quick when half the time it's just the weather or the guy on the box not working it right.

Oh come on, people act like nail pops are the end of the world. It's just drywall settling, happens all the time. Throw some spackle on it and move on, not worth losing sleep over.
