Question about those new quick-set corner bead tools

I dropped about $80 on one of those new metal corner bead crimpers last month, thinking it would speed up my outside corners. First job with it, the crimps didn't hold tight on the metal bead and left a small wave in the drywall. Had to pull it all off and go back to my old method with screws and mud, which cost me half a day. Has anyone else tried these and gotten them to work right, or should I just return it?

Return it, those tools are a total waste of money.
