PSA: Don't buy that cheap corner bead from the discount bin

I grabbed a bunch of the unbranded stuff for a garage job to save maybe $30 total. The metal was so thin it bent just carrying it, and trying to mud over it was a nightmare of dents and waves. What's your go-to brand for corners that actually hold up?

Honestly, I use that cheap stuff all the time and it works fine for me. You just have to be careful when you handle it and take your time with the mud. The price difference adds up on bigger jobs, so I deal with the thinner metal. A few extra dabs of mud fixes any waves, and it's hidden under paint anyway. Saving that cash for other supplies feels better than buying the fancy brand.

Wait, so how thin are we talking? I mean, the last time I tried the super cheap stuff it bent if you looked at it wrong. Do you have to cut it totally different or just go super slow with the screws?
