Ceiling screws popping out despite correct installation

I put up drywall on a ceiling last week with screws spaced right. Now, a few screws have popped and show through the paint. The attic above gets hot and cold, so maybe that did it. How do you handle this without having to redo all the screws?

Screeps popping from attic temperature changes is pretty common. Just screw them back in and patch over the spots. It's only a real problem if dozens of them are coming loose.

Thing is, those temperature swings don't just loosen screws over time. They can actually warp the drywall itself, making it buckle in places. If you only fix the pops, you might miss bigger cracks starting along the seams. I've seen it where the whole ceiling needs redoing after a few years of ignoring the small signs. So while a few screws are easy, it's worth checking the attic insulation to slow down the heat transfer. Otherwise, you're just putting bandaids on a problem that keeps coming back...

That attic heat and cold cycle is brutal on drywall, isn't it.
