Vent: Old foreman told me I was running the cutterhead too fast for 3 years
Back in 2018 on a job near Baton Rouge, my first foreman just yelled at me to "keep the RPMs up" no matter what. Last month a different guy watched me for 5 minutes and said I was chewing up the pump with all that cavitation. Slowed down to 120 RPM and the production actually went up. Anyone else get stuck unlearning bad habits from old timers?

Huh, I always figured faster was better for clearing material.

Slow and steady eats the blueprint, I guess. Better late than over-mined.
