Paradise Bay dredge job taught me a hard lesson about tides
Worked a site in Paradise Bay last spring. Took a 4 hour break right at low tide. Came back and my cutter head was buried in mud. Couldn't spin it for the next 6 hours. Cost me nearly $2,000 in lost time just waiting on the next high tide to wash it out. Now I never leave the cutter engaged near the bottom when the tide drops. Has anyone else had their equipment stick like that?

Man that's brutal, $2,000 is a lot of money to lose just because of some mud. I've been there with a different kind of sticky situation on the water, and it's one of those things you just have to learn the hard way. The way the tide can mess with your gear is no joke, especially in a place like Paradise Bay where the bottom is probably soft enough to swallow anything. It's good you figured out the trick about not leaving the cutter engaged, though. Sounds like one of those lessons you only need to learn once.

$2,000 for a mud mishap? Sounds like somebody needs to learn to pick their battles. Tide stole your gear? More like you left it sitting there asking for it.
