My cutterhead bearing blew out after 60 hours on a new pump

Picked up a replacement pump from Thompson Equipment three months ago and the cutterhead bearing started grinding last Tuesday on a job in Baton Rouge. Pulled it apart and found the seal was already shot, letting sand into the raceway. Took me two days to source a replacement bearing, and now I'm wondering if anyone else has had issues with their factory bearings going that fast.

Check Thompson's install manual - they spec different seals for sandy water than standard pumps.

Man, that's brutal. 60 hours on a brand new pump is just wrong, you shouldn't have to deal with that. And yeah, what @foster.dylan said is dead on, I had the same thing happen on a dewatering pump a few years back until I switched out the seals myself.
