Blown hydraulic hose on the Mississippi dredge last Tuesday

I was running the cutterhead on the Mississippi River near Baton Rouge when a 3/4 inch hydraulic line blew out around 2 PM. Sprayed oil everywhere and shut us down for almost 4 hours while I crawled under to replace it with a spare. Has anyone else had luck using synthetic blend oils to extend hose life in cold water conditions?
