Wasted $60 on a drafting triangle that was 2 degrees off

Bought a plastic drafting triangle from an office supply store for a CAD drawing check and it threw my whole layout off by an eighth inch over a two foot run, anyone else find cheap triangles aren't worth the money?

Bet the plastic softened and warped in the car heat.

Honestly, is a 3-degree error really gonna ruin your whole day?

Oh man, you're totally right about that. I once bought a cheap triangle from a big box store and it was off by almost 3 degrees. I was checking a full set of house plans and my centerlines kept ending up in the wrong spot. Plastic just can't hold up to thermal changes in a car or even a hot garage. Stuck with the aluminum ones now, they cost more but at least they stay true.
