Tried using grid paper for drafting layouts instead of blank sheets
I've been drafting for 8 years and always swore by blank paper for floor plans. Last month I ran out of blank stock and had to use grid paper on a kitchen remodel in Austin. Turns out the grid lines helped me catch a 1/2 inch alignment error before it hit the framing crew. Anyone else find grid paper actually speeds up your workflow or am I just getting old?

Wait you actually fought using grid paper for a while? I remember the first time I saw someone use it for calculator errors I felt like I was being punked or something. It just seemed so extra at first, like who needs lines that close together to check a few numbers? But then I actually tried it and realized my handwriting was the real problem the whole time, not the calculator. Now I can't even look at a blank white page for math without getting anxious about where my decimals are gonna end up.
