Told by an old hand that my line weights were all wrong, took me a week to see what he meant

He said my structural lines and notes were competing for attention, so I cut my note text to 0.5mm and bumped walls to 0.7mm. Has anyone else had a critique that completely flipped their drafting style?

Drafting style is just whatever works for you in the end right? Line weights are important but losing a whole week over it seems like overkill. I'm sure your old drawings were fine.

That old drawings were fine" is exactly the thing though. I think people underestimate how small differences add up over time. It's not really about line weights or drafting style specifically. It's more about how we treat the little things. In everyday life I notice the same pattern. People skip the setup work or rush through the basics thinking it won't matter, but then everything else falls apart later. Spending a week getting it right now probably saves two weeks of fixing problems down the road. It's just the way things work whether you're drawing or doing anything else.

Yeah that's exactly what I found too, line hierarchy makes or breaks a drawing.
