Shoutout to my old drafting board for finally giving up on me

I was laying out a foundation detail for a small addition in Lincoln last Tuesday and the parallel bar just locked up mid-line, totally seized. Turns out the plastic gear inside that adjusts the angle finally cracked after 12 years of use. Anybody know a good way to fix these things, or should I just bite the bullet and replace it?

Wait, hold on - the plastic gear inside the bar? I didn't even know those things had plastic internals. That sucks man, 12 years is a solid run though but still.

Yeah I just swapped mine for a metal one and it's been running fine since.
