Serious question, is everyone really using pen plotters for arch D size prints?
I always thought pen plotters were ancient tech that nobody should touch for large format drawings, but last month I saw a guy in Dallas finish a set of 30 arch D sheets with one and the line quality was way better than my inkjet. He told me he hasn't replaced a cartridge in 2 years and the pens last forever with proper care. Am I really missing out by sticking to digital printing, or is this just an old timer thing?

Jumping in here because I've noticed this exact thing with other "obsolete" tech too. My buddy still uses a dot matrix printer for carbon copy invoices and his stuff never jams or needs color calibration like my laserjet does. It's like we traded reliability for speed and convenience but sometimes the old way just works better for specific tasks. If that plotter guy is getting clean lines with zero maintenance headaches for two years, that's hard to argue against even if it feels like going backwards.

Actually those plotter pens aren't archival, they fade after a few years in sunlight.
