Question about a drafting standard I heard from a contractor in Tampa

A contractor in Tampa told me he always scales his site plans at 1:20 for clarity, not the 1:50 I was taught, and now I'm wondering if that's a regional thing or just his personal preference.

Wow, my buddy in Miami got chewed out for using 1:10 once.

Some places are really strict about that ratio. They treat it like a rule you can't break. Your buddy's story doesn't surprise me at all. I've seen people get in trouble for going even a little bit over. It's all about following the exact instructions, no matter what. They don't want anyone guessing or making their own mix.

@calebh90 exactly. Used 1:9 once and got a warning. Follow the book.
