Pro tip: A spring scale changed how I measure tension on drafting lines

Last month I was working on a big set of architectural plans and kept getting inconsistent line weights. An old drafter at my shop told me to grab a cheap spring scale from the hardware store. I set it to 5 pounds of pull and now my lines are way more uniform. Has anyone else used a scale like this for their work?

...oh man, that spring scale trick is a lifesaver once you dial it in. I've seen guys fight with inconsistent tension for years before someone showed them a simple gauge like that. Your mileage might vary on the exact pound setting depending on your pen and paper combo, but it's a solid starting point.

idk man, next thing you'll tell me is I need a torque wrench for my mechanical keyboard. sounds like a lot of work, but I guess if it saves you from ripping your hair out, it's worth it.
