My plotter blade snapped mid job on Tuesday

I was cutting a 50 sheet set of plans and the blade just gave out on sheet 38. Had to manually trim the rest by hand with a straightedge, which took me an extra hour and a half. Has anyone else had trouble with these carbide tips wearing out faster than expected?

Yeah, "hit or miss" really nails it. I've noticed this pattern everywhere lately, not just with blades. Like, my toaster oven had one setting that worked perfectly for years and then suddenly started burning everything on the same exact timer. It's like nothing is consistent anymore. Even my phone charger cables, they either last a month or three years with no in-between. Everything feels like it's designed to be just a little bit unreliable, you know? Makes you wonder if the good batches are even on purpose or just an accident.

Sheet 38 out of 50 is brutal. I run a lot of vinyl through my machine and those carbide tips are hit or miss. One batch lasts me months and the next set chips after a few jobs. I had a blade snap cutting 24 gauge aluminum composite last spring and it gouged the trailing sheet real bad.
