I was dead wrong about digital drafting tablets

For years I swore by my big drafting board and said tablets were just for artists, but after trying a friend's XP Pen for a week I haven't touched my triangle in three months. Any other old school drafters make the switch finally or am I the only one who fought it this long?

Yeah the adjustment period is real, I fought it for almost two years cause I thought digital would mess with my muscle memory. But once I got past the first week of hating it, I realized how nice it is to undo mistakes instead of starting over with pencil and eraser. Did you find yourself missing the feel of actual paper on the board or did you adapt pretty quick?

@drew791 yeah that paper feel was the biggest hurdle for me too. What finally clicked was getting a textured screen protector, it gives just enough drag to feel like a real drafting surface without that slippery glass feeling. I also started doing quick warm up sketches each day just to get used to hand eye coordination on the screen, and after like two weeks it felt totally normal. The undo button alone saves me so much time I can't believe I waited this long to switch honestly.
