Appreciation post: finally switched from manual to digital layer setup

Used to draw every plumbing layer by hand on trace paper but my coworker showed me how to use layer states in AutoCAD to toggle visibility instantly, convinced me after I watched him redo a 3-story riser diagram in 10 minutes. Anyone else drag their feet on digital layer management for way too long?

Wait, so you were seriously doing all that by hand on trace paper? How long did it take you to finally cave and just trust the software with your layers?

Did you try using layer filters too? That was the real game changer for me once I made the switch. I used to waste so much time manually turning things on and off until I figured out you can group them by function or floor level and just click one button to show only what you need. It feels like cheating at first but after you mess up one set of hand drawn overlays you'll never look back lol. The riser diagram thing is wild too, being able to copy and mirror whole sections saves so much headache compared to tracing it again.
