Tried using a heat gun to speed up paint drying and warped a whole window trim piece

Was repainting my bedroom trim in Austin last Saturday and figured the heat gun would save me time, but the old pine got too hot too fast and now I've got a wavy mess that's gonna take twice as long to sand and redo - anyone else ruined a project trying to rush the drying?

Oh man, that sucks. I mean, heat guns are great for stripping paint but they get way too hot way too fast for drying. Maybe try a hair dryer on low next time? It's what I've had good luck with when I'm impatient.

Honestly, did yours warp the plastic too? I used a heat gun once to dry out some water in a headlight housing and it literally bubbled the casing. Took me forever to sand it down and polish it back up, never again. Ngl, the hair dryer trick is the way to go, even if it takes forever. I've ruined a few cheap tools by getting impatient with the heat gun on plastic handles too. Tbh, patience isn't my strong suit when I'm in the middle of a project, but I learned my lesson hard.
