That 100-year-old window I fixed myself finally closed without a stick

I live in a 1920s bungalow in Dayton where the original double hung windows are mostly functional but finicky. Last month I hit the milestone of restoring my 12th window sash, replacing the old cotton ropes with new sash cord and repainting the tracks. It took about 2 hours per window once I got the rhythm down, and now every window opens with one finger. Has anyone else tackled old wood windows and found a trick for getting the parting bead to stay put without nails?

Oh man, are you me? I have a 1928 Craftsman in Columbus and those parting beads are the bane of my existence. I've tried a dab of construction adhesive on the back before I slide them in and that seems to hold better than nails for me, your mileage may vary. Its a huge pain when they pop out and the sash gets all crooked. Also props on getting through 12 windows, I only have 8 left to do in my place and its a slog but so worth it when they work right.

I tried the adhesive trick too and it's a lifesaver!
