Spent 45 minutes looking for my tape measure and it was in my back pocket the whole time

I was trying to mark out shelf holes for a closet organizer and after tearing the garage apart and even checking the fridge I finally realized I had clipped it on my belt loop before I started, has anyone else spent way too long hunting a tool that was literally on you?

Used to think I was above that nonsense but then I found my hammer in the fridge once.

Simple fix for that. Put a small magnetic strip or a nail in a specific spot near where you actually work. Train yourself to put the hammer back there every single time. Your brain will grab it from the fridge way less if the spot is right there in your line of sight. That or just accept that you're a chaos gremlin with a very confused refrigerator.
