Spent 4 hours looking for a water leak that was right in front of my face
I kept hearing a drip in the wall behind my kitchen sink but could not find where it was coming from. Turns out the drain pipe had a pinhole leak that was only active when the dishwasher drained, so I was checking the wrong pipes for hours. Has anyone else had a leak that only showed up under specific conditions?

Did you check if it was a sprayer hose too? Those things can be sneaky, they only leak when the sprayer trigger is pulled. I had a similar issue in my old place, the leak was from a crack in the drain pipe that only opened up when the water was hot from the dishwasher. It drove me nuts because I kept checking during cold water. The pinhole thing is the worst, you gotta practically sit there and watch it drip. Did you have to cut out the drywall to get to it, or were you able to fix it from underneath?

Did you check the garbage disposal too? Sometimes they leak only when running.
