Paid $180 for a pipe inspection camera and it paid for itself in one weekend

Found a slow drain in my basement last Saturday and instead of calling a plumber for $300 I grabbed this cheap camera off Amazon. Turns out a toy car my kid dropped down the vent years ago was the culprit. Fished it out with a wire hanger in 20 minutes. Has anyone else had luck with those budget cameras or did I just get lucky?

Ha that's awesome! I had the exact same thing happen with a sock my toddler flushed, $50 camera paid for itself in one afternoon too lol.

Ha "paid for itself" is exactly right lol but uh $50 for a camera that clears clogs? That sounds like a cheap endoscope snake, not a real inspection camera. The good ones are more like $100-$200 if you want one that actually bends and grabs stuff. I know cause I made that mistake buying a cheap one first and it broke after two uses. But hey if yours is still working that's a steal, mine just showed me the clog without fixing it.
