My neighbor the old plumber told me to stop using flex seal on everything, best advice I got

He watched me patch the same leak 4 times over 2 years then said 'if you use that stuff you're just buying a future problem', so I finally learned how to sweat copper pipes and now the drip is gone for real, has anyone else had to unlearn the easy fix habit?

Four leaks in two years sounds more like a bad patch job than a flex seal problem. I've seen that stuff hold a gutter together for years without a single drip.
