Finally fixed that leaky kitchen faucet after three tries
Dripped for six months and I kept buying the wrong washer size from Lowe's. Third attempt with a universal kit and some Teflon tape and it's bone dry now, anyone else have a simple fix turn into a whole saga?

That "kept buying the wrong washer size" part hits close to home, I did the same thing with my toilet flapper last month. Ended up buying three different ones before I realized the old one had a specific part number on it that I kept ignoring. Glad you got it sorted finally, dripping faucets are the kind of annoyance that really grinds on you day after day.

My third trip to the hardware store for a toilet part, the guy at the counter just looked at me and said "bring the old one next time." I felt about two inches tall. But honestly, if they made the part numbers visible without having to take the whole thing apart first, we'd all save a lot of time. Now I have a little drawer full of spare toilet flappers and washer kits, just in case the apocalypse hits and I need to fix every faucet in town. Your mileage may vary, but I swear that specific part number is the difference between a ten minute job and a two hour headache.

That "bring the old one" line stings, same thing happened when I tried fixing my garbage disposal and brought a bag of rusted parts back.
