Chose spray foam over rigid board for my attic hatch, here's what happened

I spent last weekend sealing up the attic access in my 1960s bungalow near Cleveland. The old plywood hatch had gaps you could see daylight through, and my heating bill was brutal in January. I went back and forth between rigid foam board glued on top versus spray foam around the edges. Ended up doing both actually, rigid board for the hatch itself and spray foam for the perimeter seal. The spray foam expanded way more than I expected, made a mess on my ladder, but it fills every crack perfectly. Now the hatch takes two hands to pull down because the seal is so tight, which is annoying but honestly a good sign. Has anyone else had trouble with spray foam sticking to the frame and making the hatch hard to open later on?
