Appreciation post: My deck survived a whole winter without splitting

I built a small cedar deck last fall out behind my garage. Checked the boards this morning and zero cracks or warping after all that snow and ice. Did anyone else's outdoor wood projects make it through the season okay?

Maybe it's just me but sealing the ends before winter makes a huge difference.
