Vent: Tried to use a paint sprayer on my living room ceiling and it was a disaster.

I borrowed a Graco Magnum from a friend, thinking it would be way faster than rolling. It ended up spraying a fine mist over everything, including me, and the ceiling looked worse than when I started. Anyone have a foolproof method for a smooth ceiling finish without this mess?

Yeah, that "fine mist over everything" is the worst. I used to think sprayers were the pro move for ceilings too, but after a similar mess, I'm back to a good roller and a thick nap. You get way more control, and a steady "W" pattern actually lays it down smooth without the fog.

Blame the couch victim, but at least that's an easy fix. Trying to wipe that paint mist off the ceiling afterward is the real nightmare. Just stick with the roller and a cold beer, way less cleanup.
