Vent: Neighbor told me I was wasting time painting my own fence
Overheard my neighbor Bob talking to his buddy while I was out front last Saturday. He said I was dumb for painting my own fence since I could just pay some guy $200 to do it in an afternoon. Thing is I already had the paint and a sprayer from a previous job. Took me two weekends but I saved like $150 easy. Plus I got to fix a few loose pickets he never would have noticed. Now I wonder how many other people out there think they're saving time by throwing money at simple jobs. Has anyone else had a neighbor or friend crap on your DIY plans like that?

Different take here. Paying someone $200 to do it in a weekend sounds like a pretty fair deal if you ask me. Time is money when you're busy with kids and everything else, and sometimes it's worth it just to have the afternoon free.
