Three years ago in my old kitchen, I would have never tried to cut my own butcher block countertop, but last month I did it with a circular saw and a homemade guide.
Last week I was oiling it and my neighbor asked where I bought it, which felt pretty good.

Man it's wild how that works, right? @zara_miller hit on something there because it's like each version of us is just a stepping stone for the next one. I've been noticing this pattern where the things that used to scare me just become normal parts of my life over time. It makes you wonder what version of yourself you'll be looking back on in another three years.
