Overheard a guy at Home Depot talking about painting his kitchen cabinets

He said he was using a brush and roller. Took him 3 weekends and he hated every minute. I wanted to chime in but didn't. My buddy in Cleveland did his cabinets with a cheap HVLP sprayer from Harbor Freight. Cost him $60. Whole kitchen took one weekend and looked like factory finish. Made me think about how many people just don't know about sprayers. Or they think sprayers are too hard to clean. The cleanup really only takes 15 minutes if you do it right. Has anyone else switched over to a sprayer for cabinets and felt dumb for not doing it sooner?

Thinning the paint right and flushing immediately saves so much hassle, sprayers beat brushes every time.

Wait, did he mention if he was using a good brush or just whatever cheap one he grabbed off the shelf? That can make a huge difference too, but yeah sprayers are a game changer. My buddy tried painting his garage doors with a roller once and ended up with drips everywhere, then he borrowed my cheap Wagner sprayer and it came out perfect in half the time. Cleanup is a pain in the ass if you let the paint dry in the hose though, gotta flush it right away or you're screwed. But once you figure out the right tip size and thin the paint enough, it's hard to go back to brushing.
