My brother and I are clashing over how to rebuild the deck railing

So we decided to tackle the deck together since it's looking rough... but we can't agree on the design at all. He wants a super simple straight rail, and I think adding some curves would look nicer. We got into a bit of a standoff at the hardware store yesterday over bracket types. It's starting to feel like more about winning the argument than fixing the deck. Has anyone handled a similar situation with a family member during a project? I don't want this to ruin our weekend plans... maybe there's a compromise we haven't thought of. Any tips would be really helpful.

Ugh, classic sibling standoff. Mix both ideas, straight sections with one curved corner piece as an accent.

Honestly @sean_martin44, what if that curved piece was a different color too?
